We Care Food Ministry
WE CARE is a food ministry program supported by the congregation of Faith Presbyterian Church since l98O. The program’s primary objective is to supply basic food items to individuals and families in the Cape Coral area who find themselves in personal distress. These people are served regardless of religious affiliation. Applications for WE CARE are located on the front door of the WE CARE building and all applicants must be Lee County residents. These applications are then screened for validity.
Food is sorted and packed on Tuesdays and distributed every Friday morning. A church-wide food drive is held once a year – souper Bowl Sunday, where we collect cans of soup. We are in the “Faith Weekly Forum” where we advertise an item weekly that is needed in the food pantry. Both food and monetary contributions are gratefully accepted at any time. Bulk shopping is purchased from Harry Chapin Food Bank and other food is purchased at Publix.
If you would like more information about WE CARE, please call (239) 257-3473 and we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
